Myo Electric Artificial Arms

Activities of daily living with Myo electric Hand

Paresh is eating and drinking with above elbow artificial arm (left) with myo electric hand and below elbow arm (right) with mechanical hand

Prosthetic Arms with Myo electric hand offers the highest level of rehabilitation for upper limbs. The system combines an attractive appearance with higher grip force and gripping speed, while offering a broad range of possible component combinations and enhancements. For myo electric control, electrical action potentials of the residual muscles are used to activate the prosthesis.

Signals are emitted during contraction of a muscle and are measurable on the skin surface. The electrodes accomodated in the prosthetic socket pick these up to amplify and transmit these as control signals to the prosthetic hand. A rechargeable 6 volts battery serves as energy source. A battery charger is also provided to the patient.

There are a variety of control systems for myo electric prosthetic hands in order to derive best results as per patient's requirements
